With 15 years in education, I'm a passionate teacher who has spent the last five years in Caddo Parish. I graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a degree in English Education and a minor in Spanish. I've previously taught at Turner Elementary/Middle School and Huntington High School, with a focus on English Language Learner (ELL) students, and I'm dedicated to helping students succeed.

All water fountains have water bottle refill stations. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle each day. Reusable drink containers are allowed provided that they have a lid. No glass bottles allowed.

Electronic Devices Policy for the 25-26 School Year
All electronic devices should be turned off and stowed away in backpacks prior to entry at the front doors into campus for the instructional day. Devices are not considered “stowed away” in students’ pockets, hands, purses, or visible locations. If the electronic device is visible outside of the backpack, it will be confiscated. Students may use electronic devices at the end of the instructional day after dismissal at 3:25 p.m.

I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Kinesiology and Education. I'm a proud Shreveport native, born and raised right here in town! I graduated from the amazing C.E. Byrd High School in 2003 and later earned my degree from LSUS in 2017. I have one son, Camron, who is 22. I genuinely love working with kids of all ages, and I believe every child benefits from someone who understands them and offers grace. I'm truly on the best journey of my life right now and so grateful for the opportunity to be a Spartan! You could say I'm a numbers person; I love all things related to them, and I really enjoy a good challenge. I always see challenges as opportunities for growth.

With 10 years of experience in education, including one year at the high school level and nine years in middle school, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to our team. I hold a Master's Degree in U.S. History and am dedicated to lifelong learning. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, watching movies, spending time with my children, and traveling with my family. I am also a lifelong supporter of Veterans and the U.S. Armed Forces and have a keen interest in learning about people's diverse family histories and heritage. A fan of coffee, caffeine, good food, and the gym, I also enjoy sports, with football being a particular favorite. I look forward to meeting everyone!

Hello Spartans, my name is Mona Vienne, and I am the Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for YDMS. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for 26 years, and we have 4 beautiful children. In 1996, I started my career in education as a Social Studies teacher/basketball coach at C.E. Byrd High School. Over the years, I was a Social Studies teacher at Huntington High School and Northwood High School; as well as the counselor at North DeSoto High School. In 2016, I left the classroom to become a Behavior Intervention Specialist. I have served YDMS as their BIS for the past 7 years; however, I am super excited to now be at Sparta 5 days a week.
